logo For sake fans, the landscape in Waikiki has changed a lot in the last year. Favorite haunts like Kyo-ya, Furusato and Kacho are no more, and until recently there have been no exciting new arrivals on the restaurant scene.

Doraku Sushi opened in February with a great sake list at reasonable prices, and a slick menu featuring Cuban-influenced dishes from their hometown of Miami. They've agreed to open up the restaurant for our final tasting event and showcase a selection of their favorite sake appetizers.

The Aftertaste Party will follow a looser format, with a brief tasting session and lots of time for sake socializing. This event kicks off ticket sales for The Joy of Sake on August 28, with special prices this evening only. Pua will also be signing up volunteers, and we encourage the Aftertaste Ohana to give back a little this year.

Afterparty reservations may be made online at this link: Aftertaste Hawaii Online Ticket Purchase or call Pua at 222-5591. All sales are final and attendance is limited to 70 persons.
