Aloha The Joy of Sake Ohana,

With the Aftertaste season winding down (just one more event after this one), it's time for a replay of the most popular event to date: Sake Pau Hana. We'll sample some hearty, umami-rich sakes along with lau lau, lomi salmon, chicken long rice, sweet potatos and kalua pig.

The evening's talk focuses on sakes from the north. Hokkaido and Aomori produce sakes with heft and character, as the members of the Kokusai Sake Kai learned during their recent trip to the region. We'll try a few of them, including at least one label made from rice grown exclusively in Hokkaido.

A total of 39 junmai, ginjo and daginjo sakes will be available for tasting from 6:00 to 7:00, followed by the Hawaiian Buffet and a congenial hour of sake sipping until 8:00 p.m.

Please make reservations online through the following link: Aftertaste Hawaii Online Ticket Purchase or call Pua at 222-5591. All sales are final and attendance is limited to 70 persons.
