The Joy of Sake moves to an elegant new seaside venue this year—Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. The hotel's three ballrooms and adjacent foyer provide plenty of space for meandering about the sake tasting tables and restaurant stations in air-conditioned comfort.

The Joy of Sake is the largest sake-tasting outside Japan, and has been held annually since 2001. It features premium sakes submitted as entries to the U.S. National Sake Appraisal, a rigorous blind tasting held in Honolulu every year with ten judges from Japan and the U.S.

Over 300 sakes will be available for tasting, along with appetizers presented by 15 of Honolulu's finest restaurants. This year's event is held on a Friday, and the Sheraton Waikiki is offering special kamaʻaina rates to local residents who'd like to “sleep over.”

Tickets are available on-line and at The Sake Shop, Fujioka Wine Times, Marukai and The Wine Stop.
